Segment No. 178 -- Mk. 16:14; Lk. 24:36-43; Jn. 20:19-25

Title:  Yeshua Appears to the Disciples Without Thomas

Mk. 16:14  Afterward He appeared to the eleven as they sat a the table, and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen.

Luke 24:36  Now as they said these things, Yeshua Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, “Peace to you.”
Jn. 20:19  Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, Yeshua came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace to you.”

Lk. 24:37  But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed they had seen a spirit.
Lk. 24:38  And He said to them, “Why are you troubled?  And why do doubts arise in your hearts?”
Lk. 24:39  “Behold, My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself.  Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have.”
Lk. 24:40  When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His feet.
Jn. 20:20  Now when He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side.  Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.

Lk. 24:41  But while they still did not believe for joy, and marveled, He said to them, “Have you any food here?”
Lk. 24:42  So they gave Him a piece of broiled fish and some honeycomb.
Lk. 24:43  And He took it and ate it in their presence..

Jn. 20:21  Then Yeshua said to them again, “Peace to you!  As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”
Jn. 20:22  And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”

This is not the same thing as receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit.  This will occur on the Day of Pentecost (Shavuoth) some fifty days later.

Jn. 20:23  “If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.”
Jn. 20:24  But Thomas, called Didymus, one of the twelve, was not with them when Yeshua came.
Jn. 20:25  The other disciples therefore said to Him, We have seen the Lord.”  But he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger in the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.”
